The weather in March has continued to prolong the feel of winter. The March  days were of course getting longer and the move to British summer time at the end of March  was a great relief. Iris of Sissinghurst has started to undertake talks to West Kent horticultural societies. A number of different talks have been prepared but the most popular request this year has been for the presentation called " The Englsih love affair with the Iris". Talks have been undertaken by Sue Marshall at  Horsmunden, West Kingsdown, Appledore and Hawkhurst. It has proven a real pleasure so far and Iris of Sissinghurst has a number of other engagements during the next few months.

A number of iris lovers have been using the  iris on-line buying facility this month to purchase iris. Demand for specific varieties has meant that some individual plants prepared for sale this summer have been sold out and will not now be available again until later this year. A note has been placed against these varieties when you view the catalogue. Please accept our apologies if any of the varieties that appeal to you will not be available for immediate purchase. We will ensure that our stocks are built up again by late summer.
